Just a quick note on visibility.
One of the best things I did when I got my daugthers helmet (and also did for myself later) was to buy wide reflective tape and placed it on the back of the helmets. It is the silver type, got it in Walmart for a couple of bucks.
They also sell more expensive yellow triangles for the back of helmets but I thought they were small and expensive. I like the thick
width of the silver though.
I have also seen people in the early morning on bikes wearing reflective straps across their backs.
